Due to time constraints, we are having to run the 2021 AGM and the Winter Conference as two separate events this year. The AGM will be held online from 12 midday until 1pm, on Friday 17th December and the Winter Conference will be held on Saturday 15th January 2022. Most of you are aware that we are supporting the MISSING PEOPLE charity this year, nominated by our BAFA Members. We can now proudly announce the second fundraiser for the charity..and what can be more appropriate at this time of year than a BAFA Christmas Jumper competition!
This post is an advance warning to give you some extra time to start prepping. The format of this fundraiser will be similar to the bake-off competition we organised in the Spring. We kindly ask for a minimum donation of £5 to MISSING PEOPLE charity to enter the competition. Further details on how to participate will be announced this week so watch this space. Alecto Forensics, a key part of The Forensic Access Group, is looking for a forensic anthropologist to join their team. The position is full-time, permanent and based at the headquarters/laboratory in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Flexible working conditions and the option to work from home when not attending scenes or post-mortem examinations are offered. Certification by the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) for Great Britain and Ireland (FAII or higher) is essential, or eligibility and willingness to apply for certification within the first 12 months of employment. The School of Science and Engineering are delighted to offer a 4 year fully funded (UK) PhD studentship based within the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID), University of Dundee An essential part of the remit of the Greenhouse Research Studentship Programme is that successful applicants are required to teach in the dissecting room throughout semesters 1 and 2 and to assist with other classes as and when required. Two research topics are offered to potential candidates who wish to apply for the Greenhouse scholarship award. Only one of these projects will be taken forward and so applicants are requested to indicate clearly which of the projects they wish to apply for.
