we are happy to announce that the registration to the Winter BAFA AGM and winter conference is now open. The cost to attend the conference is 35£ and it will be held on Saturday 9th December 2023 at Wrexham University. The overarching theme for the conference will be "Searching for human remains". The conference will feature two keynote speakers presenting on different aspects of search, and a demonstration from forensic search dogs. As always, there will be student presentations, and this year we have decided to make them all 10 minutes.

The talks can be on any topic related to forensic anthropology, including search, excavation, and identification of the deceased, and all student members (from undergraduates to PGR students) are invited to submit an abstract for either a poster or a presentation. The abstracts can be short, and the deadline for submission is the 24th of November. A link for submitting the abstracts was sent to all members via email, if you are interested in submitting an abstract please email chair@bafa.com or membership@bafa.com. If you are not a BAFA member and you are interested in becoming one, please visit our membership page or contact us at membership@bafa.com Remember also that you can apply for grant funding to assist with conference attendance, just go to http://www.bafa.uk/grants.html and you will see the range of BAFA small grants available.
